Therese Shanks | Attorney at Law

Born and raised in Northern Nevada, Therese joined the firm in 2013 after completing a judicial clerkship at the Nevada Supreme Court with Justice James W. Hardesty. Her area of practice has been focused on general civil litigation and appellate practice.

Therese received her law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Upon admittance, she was awarded the Kennedy Scholars Fellowship - a full tuition merit based scholarship. While in Law school, she completed judicial externships with both Justice James W. Hardesty at the Nevada Supreme Court and Judge Robert C. Jones in the federal United States District Court for the District of Nevada. In addition to receiving the Witken Award for highest grade in her civil procedure, criminal procedure and appellate advocacy classes, she was also honored as one of the Top 30 appellate oral advocates in her class. Therese graduated from McGeorge School of Law with high distinction and was awarded the Order of the Coif for finishing in the top 10 percent of her class. Prior to law school, Therese attended the University of Nevada, Reno, from which she received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, in English Literature.

In her spare time, Therese enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family and being active.
